Where it all began...
The dream existed for years, but in May of 2006 it was finally realized.  After ten long months of renovation, the 1930's Evergreen home which now houses our beloved restaurant was transformed into One World Cafe.  The project was done on a tight budget with all of the demolition and most of the construction (aside from the electrical and plumbing) being done by us (phew!)  Much of the original lumber was recycled into things like  framework, trim, countertops and shelving .  It was a labor of love and we are fortunate to be able to share it with  so many friends, old and new, every day.
Ongoing at One World:
WORTHY CAUSE  OF THE MONTH... Every month (or so...) we choose a worthy cause of the month.  We set our jar out for customers to contribute to  and let it build for a month or two.  Once the jar is counted, OWC matches the contributions of our customers and donates that amount to the charity.   We have raised money for a number of great organizations and causes including a  local  food bank, , the ONE campaign, Pennies for Peace, Heifer International, Peruvian Hearts & Special Olympics, to name a few.  Our customers have shown great compassion for those in need and have opened their hearts and wallets generously.

LIVE MUSIC...we  enjoy the music of local musicians on many Friday evenings.   Currently, on select Fridays we enjoy the acoustic guitar and amazing vocals of the Houligans.

THE ART ON THE WALLS...THANKS to the generosity of MANY local artists, we continue to enjoy beautiful new displays frequently.  All local art is available for purchase with 100% of the sale going to the artist.

RECYCLING...We do our part for the planet by recycling as much as possible at One World...all glass, aluminum, cardboard, plastics, and used cooking  oil.  We use all recyclable to-go containers and encourage our customers to be recyclers as well!
